Roger S. Oertli

As chief operations officer (COO), the daily focus of Roger Oertli is to create and deploy tactical strategies that enable Guarantee Electrical Co. to most efficiently and safely deliver electrical and communication service to clients.
Oertli joined Guarantee in 1977 as an electrical engineer after working collegiate summers as a material handler and draftsman. He rose through the ranks of Guarantee in roles as:
- construction project manager,
- vice president of GECO Engineering,
- vice president of Guarantee’s Missouri Construction division and
- president of Guarantee Electrical Construction Co.
- He became COO in 2001 and serves as a member of Guarantee Electrical’s board of directors and its Executive Management Team.
Oertli makes safety his first priority, a top level commitment that is reflected in the firm’s outstanding safety ratings. Each Guarantee client benefits from his personal attention to ensuring every project is managed by a strong core team dedicated to the project’s total success. A leader in creating strategies to improve service, Oertli taps valuable Guarantee differentiators – including prefab, three-dimensional design constructability planning and ongoing supervisory training – to generate increased production efficiency and greater value for Guarantee clients.
Currently, Oertli serves as a management trustee for three IBEW benefit funds. He also serves as a director of the St. Louis Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).
Oertli’s other professional and community service contributions include leadership as:
- director of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of St. Louis,
- president of the St. Louis Electrical Board of Trade,
- director of the St. Louis Minority Business Council,
- member of the St. Louis Urban League employment committee,
- past president of the Southside YMCA and
- past chairman of the Boy Scouts Gravois Trail District.
Oertli earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla (now the Missouri University of Science & Technology). He is a LEED 2.0 accredited professional.
