As vice president of preconstruction and GECO Engineering Corp., the daily focus of Steve Juan is to plan and implement tactical strategies which abet the “constructability” – both in quality and in cost – of projects undertaken by Guarantee Electrical Co.
Juan rejoined Guarantee in February 2006 as director of design-build following an earlier stint from 1993 to 1995 as project manager. He was promoted to vice president of preconstruction in October 2006.
He previously worked at Mack Electric as a project manager from 1989 to 1993 and at RJP as a 25 percent owner/partner and project manager from 1995 to December 2005.
A skilled value engineer, Juan excels at global overview, technical review, and material requirements and installation analysis. He also is responsible for final pricing on major projects. His ability to identify cost efficiencies and create quality improvements on high-rise office, medical and industrial assignments involving design-build or design-assist electrical, voice-data and other communication systems is honed by a quarter century of experience.
Juan is active in:
- the Design-Build Institute of America,
- the American Subcontractors Association, and
- the Associated General Contractors of St. Louis.
Juan earned his bachelor’s degree in management from Webster University.
